Indian Chess Academy was founded on a simple yet powerful idea: chess should be taught in a way that feels engaging, personal, and meaningful.

What began as a side project by Viraj Pandit, a computer science engineer with a lifelong passion for the game, soon became a response to the overly generic nature of most online chess classes.

Later joined by Nachiket Chitre, they created an environment where students receive close, thoughtful mentoring—adapting to each student's pace and style to build not just skill, but unshakable confidence.

Our team is led by Viraj Pandit (Co-Founder & Head Coach) and Nachiket Chitre (FIDE Master), along with a dedicated team of experienced mentors who specialize in child psychology and chess pedagogy.

What age group do you cater to?

We train students from age 5 to adults. Our curriculum is adaptive—fun and engaging for kids, structured and strategic for adults.

How are classes conducted?

Classes are conducted online via Zoom/Meet with interactive chess boards (Lichess/Chess.com). We use digital tools to make lessons dynamic and visual.

What is the class frequency and duration?

Classes are typically held 1-2 times a week, lasting 60 minutes each. However, we offer flexible scheduling for 1-on-1 sessions to fit your routine.
